MSc Student / Research Assistant.
The accomplishment you are most proud of:
Consistently going to late evening swim practices. When I'm home and cozy and it's dark and cold outside (and I know that cold water awaits me- see fun fact below), leaving my blanket and books is not an easy task. But I suck it up and do it because consistency is key.
Your go-to pre-race meal or ritual:
Toast with peanut butter, banana, cinnamon, and honey while staring at all my gear laid out on the floor.
Though she be but little, she is fierce.
Tell us something fun about yourself!:
When I was younger I used to cry every time I had swimming lessons, I started cycling in 2016 while working on a study with cyclists in an environmental ergonomics lab, and I started running long distance when I was 12 and finally harnessed my attitude to walk off the baseball diamond and declare I really hated all sports that involved balls. And ice cream is my absolute favourite post long run treat.
What 2018 races/events can we find you at?
Loop the Lakes trail run (May 19- Squamish, BC)
Ironman 70.3 Victoria (June 3- Victoria, BC)
Ironman Canada (July 29- Whistler, BC)
Kelowna Apple Triathlon (August 19- Kelowna, BC) (tentative)
GranFondo Whistler (September 8- Whistler, BC)
Marathon TBD (October).
Because female triathletes are strong, fierce, and passionate and we need gear that exemplifies that.
Your favourite Brava product and why?
Colour block tri short: 1) they have polka dots and polka dots make everything better, 2) the fit and style is perfect, and 3) I love these shorts so much that even when I'm exhausted, I want to go to a 6am spin class just to wear them.
